About You!
"When life gives you lemons - wait, why would life give you lemons? Why not pinapples? That's fruit discrimination - you take the seeds, and then plant them to get some more! While you do, use the lemons left to make your lemonade!" - Jundao, Kizuto
Personality: The easiest way to describe Kizuto's character would be by using the word...eccentric. He is definitely a strange teen, always addressing everyone as sir upon first meeting them, regardless of their gender, and the way he likes yelling at people for no reason in particular. There many more unique...features about the boy's personality, however, most are able to look past that and see the kind soul that lays within him. Kizu is warm to those who have yet to wrong him, similar to a small fire that illumates even the darkest of rooms. He is also a nature lover, and can always be seen admiring the environment around him, no matter how "ugly" or polluted it may be in reality. Very few things are dead to him, a waste of space, or "horrendous." In his eyes, everything has a spark of life, and is beautiful in their or its own special way.
You just have to search deep within that person or item to see it.
Unfortunately, most people are far too lazy to do so.
Despite most of Kizuto's positive traits, there are a few negatives within him. For one, he tends to...go overboard from time to time. He practices his bending far more than what is needed, and while this may be a good thing, he strives to go beyond exhaustion. He takes it to the point where after training, he drops to the floor, out cold for the rest of the day and into tomorrow evening. Kizu can be oblivious to his surroundings as well, for when he focuses on a single thing, that is it. Nothing and no one is able to reach him, unless he is somehow harmed, or pushed from whatever spot he is in. Finally, anyone can tell Kizuto can be reckless at times, heading into danger if given a good reason to do so...and almost every reason is a good reason in his eyes. Usually, it's his insane luck that brings him out of the fray without much harm.
Likes: As stated before, Kizuto adores nature and everything that comes with it. He enjoys the fresh scent of plants, the constantly moving animals, the warmth of the sun hitting his back, the pitter patter of rain or a cool breeze that makes him sigh in content. Along with this comes his love for heat, for the adolescent is always seen going out on hot, sunny days. He enjoys art, such as listening to music or looking at painting and sculptures. Literature is another thing he has come to love over the years, and although he is not always seen with one, once a book is in his hands he will read it. Out of the many, many things Kizu likes, he has the most fun laughing and creating jokes, or perhaps a bit of harmless teasing.
Dislikes: Due to Kizuto being...well,
Kizuto, he does not dislike much per se, but some things do make him less happier than usual. One of these things is laziness. The boy himself is an active, shining little ball of energy, and does not enjoy it when he sees others lazing around. Especially when they could be doing something productive. He also does not enjoy being annoyed, despite it not happening often. Because of this "dislike", he says he is annoyed from time to time rather than angry or upset.
History: "It's best to just burn your troubles away!" - Jundao, Kizuto
Our tale begins with a young bender couple, one in the early years of their twenties. However, they were not exactly lovers. It was supposed to be a one-night stand, they weren't supposed to see each other again. Sadly, fate had another idea in store for the duo, and graced them with new life in the form of a small baby. They were not ready, though. They were not ready for such a large responsibility nor did they care for it. Instead, after it was brought into the world, they left the gift of life near the outskirts of Shugoryuu no Kuni, deep within one of the many forests. Who would leave a baby to fend for themselves, one might ask. Of course, their decision was completely and utterly idiotic, but this baby had amazing luck. An elderly man who seemed well into his sixties, came across a small red bundle that was releasing small whimpers. Upon discovering the small bundle held a baby, with a single tuft of black hair on its head and dark reddish-black pools for eyes, the man decided to raise the small gift himself.
Years had passed since that fateful day, and the small baby had grown into a healthy young boy, one who went by the name of Kizuto. He was a wild child, due to being raised in the same forest he was found, living in a small cabin built by the same man who took him in. Because of the boy's rowdy nature, he was always bouncing around, always searching for something to do. By the time he turned eight years old, he had taken it too far. Platypus Bears lived in the region, and one day Kizuto had wandered off too far into the forest surrounding his home. To his surprise and absolute horror, young Kizu came across one of them. The Platypus Bear responded appropriately once the boy came into its line of sight by preparing to attack. However, in the nick of time, the youth's foster father arrived at the scene and utilized his firebending to stop the deadly animal in its tracks. Despite his old age, Kizuto's father was more than capable of holding his own against the platypus bear and managed to scorch it many times. In the man's eyes, it was a work out for his old yet experienced joints, in Kizuto's, the battle was the most incredible thing he had ever seen.
The bear hybrid was not defeated, but driven away, and the duo was left unharmed. Immediately after, completely disregarding the fact he was almost killed and was possibly going to be punished, Kizuto begged his father to teach him the ways of "fireworks." Said man looked baffled and was more than ready to decline the request, but paused. Moments of silence passed before Kizuto was given a yes, and moments of silence passed before he was jumping for joy. It was honestly a smart idea, because from then on the child invested all his time into practicing his firebending. No more messes caused from being too energetic, no more wandering off into places he wasn't supposed to. Until he reached the age of eleven, Kizuto only practiced and learned firebending from his father. Whether it be from books, from scrolls, or from sculptures and paintings, he learned. Nothing more and nothing less. However, it was around the time when he was eleven years of age that trouble found him once again.
A small trio of travelers, non-benders at that, certainly not from Shugoryuu no Kuni stumbled upon the cabin Kizuto and his father lived in. Said pre-teen and his father were still located within the cabin once the travelers arrived. Age had begun to catch up to Kizuto's father; the man was forced to hunch over as he walked and used a walking stick to aid him in moving from one area to the next. The man had sensed danger, and left the cabin to confront the travelers after ordering his son to stay inside. The second he walked outside, Kizuto's father was verbally harassed, and quite heavily. The elder was not fazed, though, due to being quite used to it from his middle years. He decided to lead the travelers away from the cabin and did so while his son watched safely behind a glass window. Kizuto could hear the words that the travelers spat out, and watched as all four individuals walked away from his home, and most likely out of the forest. What he did not realize was the fact his father was not going to return.
Minutes turned into hours, hours turned into days, days turned into months. Finally, months transformed into years. Two years had came and went by since the very day his father left, and Kizuto was kept waiting for something that would never come back to him. While it taught him patience, he had slacked off in all areas of daily human life, such as socializing, eating, and hygiene...mostly hygiene. Even his firebending was becoming rusty. Eventually, around the time of his thirteenth birthday, Kizu had finally accepted his father's disappearance. And so, he restarted his training, picking up where the old man had left off. Another two years escaped from the teen's grasp in the blink of an eye, and before he knew it, Kizu was fifteen years old. Seeing he no longer had a reason to stay home, and possibly rot away, the youth packed up his belongings and left the cabin to go on a journey. Where he plans to go, nobody knows.
